Bio:
Hello, my name is Diana Schatzman, and I started holding Designed By You jewelry parties back in 2005. Many years ago I discovered that I have a passion for jewelry making. The joy that it brings to me is something I wish to share with every woman I meet. I am co-owner of Designed By You, and I am known locally for my bead art as well as my jewelry. I service the north, east and western suburbs of Detroit, MI; however, as a recruiter/trainer, I am willing to travel out of state.
Specializing In:
I help people create more unique and challenging pieces. I want you to envision a piece that you would love to own and allow me to help you create it. Of course I enjoy helping women make any and all jewelry items we provide, but I desire to help you customize it to suit your unique personality and wardrobe.
Hostess tips:
I have a table and chairs that I will gladly bring at the request of my hostess.
I regret to admit I am allergic to cats (and dogs with thick fur). I apologize for any inconvenience, but would really appreciate it if your beautiful pets could be kept in a separate portion of the house while the jewelry party is in process.
A hostess may request no children, but I do not have a problem with this. We would rather have Mommy arrive with her baby than not at all. If your friends are bringing children, see what you can do about having an older child keep tabs on them in a separate room.
Favorite party drink & appetizer:
Cran-Orange Punch
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 gallon orange juice
1 can of frozen cranberry juice concentrate (thawed)
2 2-liter bottles of ginger ale
orange sherbet or orange slices as garnish
PREPARATION:
Mix 1/2 of the orange juice with 1 bottle of Ginger Ale. Add half the thawed cranberry juice concentrate. Stir. Add ice & slices of orange on top or scoops of orange sherbet.
Hanky Pankies
An appetizer that can be made up ahead of time and frozen or stored in the refridgerator until needed.
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. pork sausage
1 lb. Velveeta cheese, cubed
1 4 oz. can mushroom pieces (drain and chop)
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic &/or onion powder
2 loaves of party rye bread (rye cocktail bread)
PREPARATION
Brown beef & sausage, and then drain and return to pan. Add cheese, stir until melted, and then add all remaining ingredients (except bread). Spread cheese-meat mixture onto the small cocktail bread slices, arranging them onto a cookie-sheet.
At this point you can either broil, freeze or refridgerate them. Once they are frozen, remove them from the cookie sheet and into a freezer bag for longer storage. When broiling, keep watching them and remove from oven once bread (edges) and cheese mixture begin browning. Makes 42 to 55 openfaced sandwiches.
