After attending three parties, I knew I had to become a Designed By You Design Consultant. It's just a great opportunity to get involved in jewelry design and help others explore their own creative side. There's no long demonstrations, just making jewelry. Kim.

Bio:

Hi, my name is Kim Geer.  I'm very excited to be a Designed By You consultant for people in the Central Michigan area.  Jewelry has been a lifelong passion of mine.  After attending three (yes, three) DBY parties, I decided I needed to become a consultant in addition to my teaching career since I enjoyed the parties so much.  I am a special education teacher working with children in 1st through 5th grades who have learning disabilities.  I normally don't care much for the home party scene, but DBY parties are different.  Normally salespeople give a spiel about the products they want you to buy, and then you order.  You spend a lot of money for something you may never use.  At DBY parties there is a very brief opening explaining how things are set up and then everyone is free to socialize, snack, and take their time creating their own unique piece of jewelry.  In the evenings and on weekends, I look forward to having many opportunities to guide ladies of all ages (men, too) in designing unique pieces of jewelry for themselves or for a special someone.  At a DBY party, the design possibilities are endless as you choose among beads of various colors, shapes, sizes, and patterns.  There are gemstones, crystals, pearls, and glass beads along with different styles of bead spacers.  But don't worry, there's help if you need it while you enjoy a fun time away from home.

Specializing In:

Designing with gemstones
Creating matched sets: necklace, bracelet, and earrings

Hostess tips:

Don't fret over your house not being spotless.  No one cares!  Your guests will be there to take part in something different and to have fun.

Snacking suggestions:

I suggest a balance of healthy and not-so-healthy snack foods.  Perhaps cheese and crackers, fruit, veggies & dip, cookies, or candy.  Keep the snackables simple
